We always like to have a classic purple saliva in stock. This variety created by Zillmer Pflanzen out of Germany has strong stems that won't fall or sag and dark purple flower stems that add depth to the already beautiful purple flower calyxes. Salvia is an easy to care for plant that rewards new and experienced gardeners with weeks of blooms and a flexibility that is nearly unmatched. Tall and somewhat narrow this plant works great in border gardens, naturalized settings and even as a thriller in thriller and spiller pairings.

Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'
Easy to grow in almost any climate, saliva is a tough drought resistant plant. During the bloom period it does benefit from additional water and will perform better if watered regularly from spring into mid-summer. Deadheading the plants will encourage new blooms to come on. You can cut them all the way back to the newest foliage at the base of the plant if they become leggy, if cut back the plants may also rebloom, but usually the flowers won't be as voluminous as the first bloom. This is a great plant for beginning gardeners.
