Rosy Teacups is specifically bread for beauty and disease resistance. A product of the Rutgers University dogwood breeding program. This cultivar features voluminous 3 inch blooms that appear between spring and summer. Designed specifically to resist the diseases that bother most dogwoods, this tree is easy to care for while also bringing the elegance and grace of the Dogwood into any space. These can be planted in a variety of locations and won't suffer from the stress that often causes problems for the North American Dogwood. We think Rosie teacup is one of the best pink varieties and we're excited to finally be able to offer a limited quantity.
The hybrid dogwood is a special tree, because it rewards the gardener all year. As the spring sets in and summer approaches, light pink blooms cover the tree blending perfectly with the flowers of spring. When summer arrives the upward branching and deep green textured leaves provide an elegant and graceful appearance among larger straighter shade trees, evergreens, or the sharp geometry of your home. Swirling scarlet and purple leaves add to the color show in the fall.
This breathtakingly beautiful tree is an excellent choice to plant along streets, near large buildings, next to patios or as a property border. It provides an eye-catching display when planted in rows, but also excels as a solo planting, or among towering giants. Dogwoods do best in some shade and rich soil, but can adapt to a variety of conditions with proper care. Dogwoods do best with 2-4 inches of organic mulch.
