Fire Spinner® is an award winning and weed suppressing ground cover with beautiful multi-colored flowers. Nickel-sized blooms are light orange with a ring of hot pink all surrounding a yellow/white eye. They are fun, funky and are certain to liven up difficult to manage spaces in your garden. Flowers spread across the plant like wildfire in spring and are prolific late spring to early summer. They often bloom multiple times in the summer, though not as densely as the first flush.
Fire Spinner® is the winner of Colorado’s Plant Select® award from 2012 and is unlike any other delosperma on the market. planted appropriately it does a great job as a weed suppressing groundcover, which typically spreads 18-24” wide in two years. Its succulent, apple green foliage is evergreen and takes on bronze tones in winter. It is drought tolerant and thrives in rock gardens, slopes, containers and other water challenged planting sites.

Delosperma 'Fire Spinner®' - Hardy Ice Plant
This plant grows best in well-drained, gravelly soil that is not wet in winter. Planting it on a slope will help provide these conditions. Due to its succulent nature, Ice Plant is very drought tolerant. Grow it in a hot, sunny location. Deer and rabbits typically don't bother this plant and it has no serious pest or disease issues.
