The Dawn redwood is a beautiful deciduous conifer that is adaptable to many conditions. This is a fast growing shade tree that offers a soft textured look to your landscape. Its large conical form can reach up to 100 feet, but the fine, feathery foliage of bright green paired with the reddish brown peeling bark gives it a more delicate look. The Dawn Redwood also offers a nice fall color with the foliage turning orange or bronze before falling off. This tree is often used in groups and makes a lovely standalone shade tree, but you should plan ahead for the right placement because of its large size.
