This North American native is easy to grow and will provide you with a unique and beautiful option for your landscape. In late spring to early summer purple flowers emerge and age with yellow buffs into a deep bright purple, with both yellows and purples appearing on the stem simultaneously. More compact than most cultivars, Grape Taffy stands only 20 inches tall and is long lived making it ideal for utilization as a shrub in the landscape setting.
Baptisia is easy to grow and will thrive with little maintenance. There are many potential applications in the landscape including meadow plantings, as a backdrop in borders, or as a specimen. Plants are very long-lived once established as the deep tap roots of baptisia are evolved to survive the conditions of the North American prairie.
