The Autumn Blaze Red Maple (Acer rubrum 'Jeffersred') is a classic oval shaped shade tree with incredibly stylish orange/red fall color. It grows fast and will brighten your yard in the fall with a cascade of brilliant orange/red leaves, which last longer than many other maples. Plant this tree in your yard if you want to light up your neighborhood in the fall, reduce your cooling bill in the summer, provide habitat for songbirds or experience great tree climbing.

Red maples are commonly used in a variety of landscapes because they tolerate many different conditions, including dry conditions and even the dreaded 'wet feet/roots'. They also provide ample shade with their upward-rounded growth and full leaf cover. These trees work wonders as natural air-conditioners. They provide large consistent shade in the summer and let the sun warm your home after leaf drop in the fall. The Autumn Blaze Red Maple tops out at about 50 ft. tall and 40 ft. wide and will grow quickly putting on 2 or more feet each year. We recommend pruning the tree upwards to give yourself plenty of room underneath the tree and to maintain the full and upright shape.
